SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS

FARM GATE PRODUCE

The diverse soils and seasonal conditions of the Southern Highlands, offers us a wide range of fresh seasonal produce to both cook with and have available for purchase at our Farm Gate.

Farming in the Southern Highlands traditionally focused on cattle and dairy and crops suited to the deep volcanic soils around Robertson; however, over the past decades, traditional producers have been joined by a growing number of artisan farmers to develop a wide range of quality produce grown using sustainable farming practices.

Local specialties include Angus beef, goats, Toulouse geese, Wessex saddleback pigs, olives, olive oil and infused olive oils, organic milk, eggs and cheeses, sheep’s milk cheeses, apples, pears and varieties of cherries, locally brewed beers, traditional cakes and sourdough breads, sausages and smoked meats, raspberries, handmade jams and chutneys and all types of potatoes, as well as truffles and exotic mushrooms.

FREE RANGE PORK

High quality meat is not about the butcher; our free-range pork operation started with two chubby pigs, a gift that quickly grew turned into integral part of our farming operations. Our small goods are cured locally at Mittagong in a heritage style and are seasonally available from the café and the farm shop.
